The Open House Coffee Shop is open between Monday to Saturday
9.00am - 4.00pm
There
are many Coffee Shops in Bath. Why does this one exist?
It
was set up by the members of Manvers Street Baptist Church and
is run by a professional manager and cook, together with volunteers.
People
from Manvers Street church and other local churches, together
with people of no particular church allegiance, are involved
in serving in the Coffee Shop. It exists as a place for people
to serve others. We give service not only with food but with
our time and faith. The Coffee Shop exists because Manvers Street
Baptist Church believes in hospitality.
We
live in a society that can feel very inhospitable. This is especially
the case if you are single, out of work, elderly, a visitor
or a newcomer.
The
Coffee Shop is a place of welcome for everyone and a listening
service is available when required.
Good
traditional home cooked food is served everyday, also snacks,
home-made cakes and pastries.
The
Coffee Shop can also provide sandwiches or teas for organisations
using the Open House Centre.
