COFFEE SHOP

The Open House Coffee Shop is open between Monday to Saturday 9.00am - 4.00pm

There are many Coffee Shops in Bath. Why does this one exist?

It was set up by the members of Manvers Street Baptist Church and is run by a professional manager and cook, together with volunteers.

People from Manvers Street church and other local churches, together with people of no particular church allegiance, are involved in serving in the Coffee Shop. It exists as a place for people to serve others. We give service not only with food but with our time and faith. The Coffee Shop exists because Manvers Street Baptist Church believes in hospitality.

We live in a society that can feel very inhospitable. This is especially the case if you are single, out of work, elderly, a visitor or a newcomer.

The Coffee Shop is a place of welcome for everyone and a listening service is available when required.

Good traditional home cooked food is served everyday, also snacks, home-made cakes and pastries.

The Coffee Shop can also provide sandwiches or teas for organisations using the Open House Centre.

OPEN HOUSE COFFEE SHOP POSTS TO FILL
We are pleased to report that after a shaky start to the year customer numbers are beginning to pick up again. We hope this continues. Please continue to patronize the Coffee Shop by bringing in your friends for a coffee and scone or even for mid-day lunch.
We still need a replacement for Nancy Winsborough who has served as company secretary for 10 years and is retiring this month. Next March we will also need a replacement for Keith Davis who retires as finance director at that time. For the past 10 years Keith has produced the monthly profit and loss statements, the payroll with National Insurance contributions and PAYE deductions and has made the regular VAT returns. To enable the Coffee Shop to continue in its present form we must have this post filled.
Those of you who might volunteer for either of these posts and need
further information should contact Nancy, Keith or me.
In the short term we need more volunteer helpers to serve both sides of the counter. On some days we only have Special Need volunteers and this presents difficulties for the manager. We really need church

volunteers on these occasions.
Please contact Margaret if you can help. 01225 836071
